Introduction

Managing credit card charges in POS and invoices often leads to mistakes, delayed updates, and accounting mismatches. To solve these challenges, we developed the Credit Card module for Odoo. This addon ensures that every credit card transaction is automatically calculated, recorded, and reflected in POS, invoices, and journal entries without any manual effort.

Why We Built This Module

Many retail and restaurant businesses face issues when accepting credit card payments:

   * Staff forget to add card transaction charges.
   * POS totals do not match invoice totals.
   * Accounting teams spend extra time reconciling card fees.
   * Charge entries must be tracked separately for reporting.

The Credit Card module was built to automate these steps and eliminate inconsistencies. It reduces manual work, improves financial accuracy, and ensures transparent customer billing at the POS level.

Key Features

1. Automatic Credit Card Charge Calculation

When a customer selects credit card payment, the system instantly calculates the configured percentage (e.g., 2%) and adds it to the POS order total.

2. Seamless POS Integration

A new “Credit Card Payment” button appears on the POS screen. Clicking it shows: 
   * Order amount
   * Credit card charge amount
   * Final payable amount
The updated amount is also reflected in the Total Due section.

3. POS Order & Receipt Updates

The module automatically updates:
     * POS order details
     * Customer receipt
     * Order summary
So the customer clearly sees the charge applied.

4. Accurate Invoice & Journal Entries

Once the POS order is invoiced:
     * A new journal entry is created for the credit card charge.
     * The charge is posted to the account configured under Default Credit Charge.
     * Accounting teams can easily trace transactions done through credit cards.

5. Simple Configuration

Go to: Point of Sale → Configuration → Payment Methods
      * Create a payment journal (e.g., “Credit Card”).
      * Set the default charge account.
      * Add this payment method to your POS terminal.
